Memrabull Guardian Program

Applications for this exciting opportunity is open to families within 1.5 hours of Toowoomba.

Our guardian program allows us to grow our breeding program and continue to better our bloodlines, without sacrificing any of our dog's happiness and need for love and attention. Even though we would love to keep all of our dogs with us, we understand that they will be much happier with more one on one attention than we can give them.

Our puppies/young adults that are available for guardian homes are very precious to us and they are a very important part of our breeding program and have been selected for their valuable genetics, temperament and health. Becoming a guardian home gives you the opportunity to have one of our best quality puppies or young adults as a family pet while he remains in our breeding program!  By offering the guardian program, we are able to ensure that our dogs get to live the best possible lives in a loving, caring home where they receive as much individual attention as possible. Once they are retired (and desexed at our expense), full ownership of the dog transfers to the guardian family.

Our puppies/young adults that are available for guardianship are not free but will come at a highly discounted cost, along with benefits.

Benefits while under contract include:

* Free Insurance - We will cover the cost of insurance for the puppy/dog for the duration of the contract.

* Free bi-annual health check and vaccinations - We will cover any costs involving the breeding process, including a bi-annual health check by our vet which will cover any required vaccinations.

* Free obedience training - We will cover the cost of professional training up to the cost of $250.

* Discounted quality food - We are happy to pass on our great breeder’s discounts with Lyka, Royal Canin and Scratch giving you the opportunity to continue feeding quality food at a discounted price.

* Financial reward - We will pay the guardian family $500 per stud service if the dog is used by us more than designated times during the contract.

Guardian home requirements:

In return for receiving a quality, valuable breeding dog (and loved family companion), the guardian will have responsibilities including, but not limited to:

* Daily CareThey will provide for all daily care costs including things such as high quality and nutritionally balanced food (breeder discounts available), bedding, worming, grooming, training, veterinary costs (not covered by the insurance), etc.

* Environment - They must allow the dog to have access in the family home as part of your family and be able to provide regular daily exercise (never off-leash in public).

* Security - They must have a fully fenced, private and secure backyard (must not be freely running in your front yard to avoid the possibility of the dog being stolen).

* Responsibility - They will need to sign a legally binding contract and will ensure that while the dog is in their care, it will be not used for breeding under any circumstances, either ‘accidentally’ or purposefully.

 * Health Care - They will cover the insurance excess of any unexpected veterinary care.

* Availability - They will need to be prepared to meet in Toowoomba (sometimes at short notice i.e. 24 hours) when the boy is required. Depending on your distance from Toowoomba, he may be required to stay with the breeder for up to 10 days. If your family is going on holidays, we must be given prior notice to put an alternative plan in place in case he is needed while you are away.

Breeder Expectations:

Our boys that are offered through our guardian program are a valuable part of our breeding program, so we have expectations of the guardian home including, but not limited to:

* Ownership - We will retain legal ownership of the dog with the right to use him for breeding purposes until the end of contract.

*Stud requirements - Our guardian boys will be required (from maturity) up to several times a year for up to 2 years. They are never to be used as a stud outside of our breeding program and the guardian is responsible to return the boy to Toowoomba when required. We will always try our best to give plenty of notice, but occasionally short notice (e.g. 24 hours) can only be given.

* Veterinary Care - At our discretion, we will require our vet to inspect the dog before any procedures are performed by the guardian's vet. This inspection will be at our cost, but the guardian will be required to bring the dog to Toowoomba.

* Desexing - At the end of the contract term (and, at our discretion, sometimes before), we will desex the dog with our vet, at our cost.  After desexing, full ownership of the dog is transferred to the guardian.

AussieDoods Australia are responsible for all breeding related expenses and/or breeding related veterinary costs including but not limited to: progesterone tests, semen evaluation, genetic testing etc.

Guardian homes assume responsibility for the care and maintenance of their guardian dog in terms of coat care, general health and well-being. Guardian homes must keep their guardian dog in good physical and mental condition and if they have a non-shedding coated breed (Aussiedoodle or Poodle) the dog must be kept well maintained and groomed.

Guardian families must reside in South East QLD***
